... Giant Chess Sets ...

Trying to come up with a unique and novel backyard game?  Giant chess sets - exotic extraordinary sophisticated backyard fun.  Offer encouragement to serious backyard enthusiasts desiring positive intellectual stimulation.  If you’re a chess player – you no longer have to choose chess to the exclusion of physical exercise.  One can only imagine the look on friends & coworkers faces when you explain your sun tan/burn as the result of a weekend chess match.

     
Giant chess sets are beginning to become more and more popular in backyard decoration as well as public parks.  Giant chess sets are terrific fun, and can be found more often on hotel lawns, European tours sites, at schools or occasionally on cruise ships.  They’re actually equally suited for indoor and outdoor use.  Most giant chess sets are engineered from strongly built all-weather black and white plastic.  They are light-weight, sturdy yet easy to move.  Good quality sets are chess sets that are eye-catching but are also designed to be played.  A giant chess set is great for an outdoor picnic and is a game that can be enjoyed by all.

Giant Chess sets are really popular with all age groups too.  They’re typically found at only the most unique vacationing spots and when people see a giant chess set all ready for a game, they are compelled to go over and start playing.  It is interesting how  ‘giants’ and ‘chess’ have intrigued people through the years.  Take a look at some of those old comic book covers.  Giant chess sets are a recurring theme that goes back decades.

For the person that has everything, this would be a neat gift.  Imagine the bravado of challenging your guest to a game of giant outdoor chess.  If you have the space to dedicate to it - many people opt to create a permanent playing board on hard ground.  This giant chess set makes a stunning garden feature and an absorbing pastime.  A "larger than life" chess set will attract crowds and bring a new dimension to any recreation area or garden.  It also makes teaching chess much easier - a novel way for the young to learn to play.

Beyond giant chess sets I have found several other giant sized games that are equally captivating.  Giant checkers, chutes & ladders,  pickup sticks, Chinese checkers, and more.  I’m thinking there’s an opportunity here for others to produce giant size backyard toys too.  There’s giant dice that could be used for all sorts of dice games as an example.   If you take it a few steps further, why not one of those put-it-together board games like mouse trap.  

Still, for all those giant sized intellectuals out there –there’s not a more mentally AND physically challenging game out there beyond a  giant chess set.
