A Backyard Gazebo Provides The Perfect Perch To Admire Your Handiwork.

A backyard gazebo is a touch of comfort that can really set off an already beautiful yard. After all, what’s the point of a beautifully manicured and gorgeously adorned backyard without an enticing perch to lounge on and appreciate the surroundings, right?

A backyard gazebo can go by other names too. For example they’re often called a screen house, kiosk, pergola, pagoda, or pavilion. For that matter, I probably see more gazebos at college tailgate parties than anywhere else, so they’re not just for backyards either.

A backyard gazebo can be used for patio furniture including chairs or loungers and tables or it can even be used to house a hot-tub or spa. It’s important to locate a good spot for it, as you won’t normally be relocating it very often. You do not, for example, want to place one in the lowest part of your yard that may be prone to puddle water in stormy seasons. If your backyard gazebo is planned for a smaller backyard, you might consider attaching it to the house or patio. Select a size that complements your yard, and don’t go overboard with a model that becomes a distraction to your next door neighbors.

Take the time to envision your placement of a backyard gazebo, as it should ideally become a centerpiece item to highlight other aesthetic features in your yard. Make sure to provide the backyard gazebo occupants a good view of things. If you have a large yard, setting it off to the side or in a nook area works well – as opposed to centering it precisely. Keep in mind also the impact of the various seasons – specifically how they may affect the view from your backyard gazebo.

A portable backyard gazebo can be used equally well at a tailgate party or family picnic. You should select the model you are most likely to reap the biggest benefits from. Portable models are not typically designed to be left up during the winter months, particularly if you’re prone to snows and ice.

When building a backyard gazebo check to ensure your contractor (or you) know the local building regulations to determine whether a permit is required. This is often dictates by the size of it, say ten feet or more across as an example. Building codes may also apply and define the type of foundation you’ll need for a backyard gazebo. For a small backyard gazebo you may be able to build it upon pressure treated lumber or concrete blocks laid directly on the ground. Take sufficient time to ensure you level the foundation pieces beforehand. That can often involve some excavation to ensure it stays level over time.
